Het vertrekpunt ligt op de Place Aim\u00e9 Tricnont in Limont (Anthisnes). De Boucle du Chantoir doorkruist dit hele gebied van oude zandsteengroeven en volgt een oude buurtweg om dan naar het gehucht La Salle (Bonsgn\u00e9e) te klimmen. Daarna gaat de lus verder naar Petit Berleur, een klein typisch dorpje in kalksteen, waarna de route afdaalt naar de Magr\u00e9e-beek. Die is echter niet altijd zichtbaar want de ondergrond zit hier vol verdwijngaten (“chantoirs”), waardoor verschillende beken in de streek een deel van hun parcours onder de grond afleggen.
